Dear John,
This note is long overdue but better late than never. My husband Jeff and I would like to thank you and your band, Pineapple Wine, for doing such a great job entertaining our guests, at our wedding, at Manakiki Country Club, on June 10th, 2001. We received many compliments about the band and would definitely recommend Pineapple Wine to anyone thinking about having a band play at their wedding. I have already passed along your band's name to a friend of mine whose daughter is planning on getting married next year. Here is an e-mail from the fun couple wedded on June 30, 2001:

Hi John!
Well we're back from Alaska and back to work. Unfortunately. The last three weeks have gone by so very fast, it's hard to believe it's all over. Here is an e-mail from the lovely couple that had their reception in their backyard on June 23, 2001:

Pineapple Wine:
I only received complements from our guests about the band. We had out of town guests that decided to get a hotel room that night instead of driving back in order that they could enjoy the music. You made us look good and we appreciate that. Here is an e-mail sent to us from a couple wedded on December 2, 2000:

To John:
As a bit of a musician myself, I knew right away that I wanted to push for live music at the reception. Karen's bridesmaids had doubts, but she agreed with me, there's just so much more energy in a band than in the DJs that we've seen at receptions. And Pineapple Wine did not disappoint! I had several other musical people mention how impressed they were, and our video has lots of shots of of our family and friends enjoying themselves to a wide variety of music (how could I not polka with my mom at my wedding???) And they were also good sports and let me play a special song with them, that Karen still talks about. Don't have the same "radio station" that everyone else does, book Pineapple Wine and have something totally unique! Here is an e-mail sent to us from a couple wedded on October 7, 2000:

Thank you guys for your wonderful performance on Saturday. We know it must have been a long day for you and we thank you for playing an extra hour. I can not tell you how many compliments we received about the band. I certainly have never seen so many people dancing at a wedding. We want to thank you guys for helping to make our wedding day so special. Everything went so smoothly at the reception and you guys helped play an important role in that regards. Thanks again for your wonderful playing on Saturday!!!Gratefully yours

"When I told my sister, a sophomore in college, that we were looking at a band for the reception she wasn't too sure about the idea. She didn't think that it would be as entertaining as having a DJ playing the music. I had come across Pineapple Wine's website (by the way, GREAT idea for out-of-town brides), liked what I saw (and heard) and wanted to hear how they sounded in person. I brought my fiancee, my mom and dad, and my disbelieving sister to hear the band at a night spot in Cleveland. It didn't take too long for my sister to get out on the dance floor with my dad! By the end of the night, she was pretty impressed with the quality and the talent of the group and was really looking forward to hearing them at the reception (and so are we!) Great job Pineapple Wine!"

Dear Mr. Lauber and Pineapple Wine --
Thank you for a fantastic wedding reception! Everybody is still commenting on the professionalism and talent of your band. The children in my wedding party had never seen live music before -- they are still talking about how they danced at the wedding all night long. They were all little rag dolls when their parents carried them out. Little Andrew would have danced until three in the morning had he been allowed.
As for me, when you sang Van Morrison, I felt as if he was there singing. Your video does not do you a bit of justice, however. You are at least 1000 times better live than you are in the video -- and the video is very good itself. I can't believe that people even hire DJs when you are out there and ready to rock the house down! (sorry DJ community) My friends who were there asked where we ever found such a good band. They said they will definitely remember your name for future events.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you guys play somewhere in the future. I hear you have found a new fan in my mother who plans to come see you again at Carrie Cerino's Lounge in August.
